Don Cook, Owner:
After graduating from Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts, Don moved to the Portsmouth, New Hampshire to pursue a career in teaching at Portsmouth High School. While teaching, Don worked after school and during the summer months building smaller scaled building and remodeling projects. After several years, he decided that building homes was his true passion and he began D. D. Cook Builders, Inc. on a full time basis.
For over 23 years, he been building custom homes and has earned a reputation as one of the most reputable builders on the seacoast. He has twice been awarded the "Builder of the Year" designation by the Seacoast Home Builders Association as well as receiving other awards. Don eventually earned his New Hampshire Real Estate Brokers license and formed a separate company, D. D. Cook Real Estate, Inc. with his wife Kathy for the main purpose of selling property in their own real estate developments.
Both companies maintain the same high standards that Don envisioned when he founded D. D. Cook Builders, Inc. 23 years ago. As business continues to grow, we have expanded our real estate services in the seacoast area with the addition of Realtors Kurt Schneider in September of 2005 and Jane Cole in May of 2006.
Kathy Cook, Owner:
Kathy has called the seacoast area home her whole life. In 1984, she acquired her real estate license and began her career with D.D.Cook Builders and D.D.Cook Real Estate, all while raising 3 children. Now with more than 23 years experience, Kathy continues to put the customers need first and also works on maintaining the high standards that the D.D.Cook name holds. Outside of work, an avid golfer, skier and grandmother to four beautiful children, Kathy is always looking to help people make the seacoast a place they too will call home.
Kurt Schneider, Realtor/Broker:
Raised in Connecticut, Kurt spent his summers on the seacoast from Rye to Kennebunkport. After a successful career with a computer brokerage firm in New York and after the birth of their son Jack, he and his wife Mary Kath decided it was time to move to the seacoast and enjoy the quality of life it has to offer.
Kurt started his career in real estate through private investing and soon realized it would be his next career. He obtained his real estate license in 2004 and thereafter started with a local agency. After meeting Don & Kathy Cook while D.D.Cook Builders was building his Portsmouth condominium, he and Don soon realized they had some of the same ideas and goals with regard to real estate.
Kurt joined D.D.Cook Real Estate in 2005 and has enjoyed helping expand the real estate services offered by D.D.Cook Real Estate. In 2009, Kurt received his NH Brokers License, and has been named the managing broker for D.D.Cook Real Estate, Inc. Representing buyers, sellers, investors, and other builders and developers, Kurt is available to discuss any and all of your real estate needs.
Jane Cole, Realtor:
Jane Cole first started her real estate career in 1978. After taking time off to raise her 2 children, she became active in real estate again in the early 90's, as a real estate appraiser. She opened Certified Appraisal Services in 2000 with her daughter, Kendra.
In 2006, she joined the D.D. Cook Real Estate firm as a real estate sales agent. As a native of Portsmouth, Jane has a thorough knowledge of the area, market trends, and local municipalities. Tony Jalbert:
Tony grew up the seacoast area as one of nine children. He studied business at the University of Miami in Coral Gables Florida and graduated with BS in business administration and a minor in finance. From there, he joined his family business to work in the travel and transportation. As general partner of the company, Tony was responsible for the development of the travel operation. From 1982 to 2001, the company grew to be ranked in the top 100 out of 20,000 travel in the United States
servicing accounts such as ABB, GTE Sylvania, Heidelberg USA, and Tyco International and various branches of the US Government.
Recognizing the mounting challenges with travel distribution, the company was
sold in 1981 to Navigant International. Since 2001, Tony has been a real estate investor and has built and bought many residential and commercial properties.
Tony always strives to overcome challenges while simultaneously meeting the needs of others in a variety of environments. He will provide the skills necessary to provide service, guidance, and attention to all of his customers.
Tony will be specializing in commercial and residential sales.

Anne Marie Varney, Realtor:
Anne Marie has been an active member of the Seacoast community for the past 18 years, and is the proud mother of 3 sons, Ben, Matt, and Tim.
Having raised her children on the Seacoast, she understands the value of community, and the importance of living in a place that you are proud to call home. Anne received her real estate license in 2005, and brings to her clients true knowledge of the area. As a strong communicator, Anne recognizes the importance of building and maintaining relationships. Anne joined D.D.Cook Real Estate in the Spring of 2009.
Recently, she has used her skills in decorating and design to renovate a local Bed and Breakfast. Another service that Anne provides her clients is staging. Anne understands the value of the "first impression", when you are listing your home.

Paul Varney, Realtor:
Paul grew up on the North Shore of Boston, and relocated to the New Hampshire Seacoast in 1991. When Paul and his wife, Anne, chose the New Hampshire Seacoast, they felt it was the perfect place to raise their three sons.
In 2003, Paul decided to get his real estate license. In addition to his career as an airline pilot, Paul had always had an interest in real estate and together with his interest in construction, Paul felt that it was a perfect fit. After spending the last six years with a local agency, Paul joined D.D.Cook Real Estate in the spring of 2009.
Paul brings to his real estate clients the same professionalism that he demonstrates in his airline career. With attention to detail, and thorough knowledge of real estate practice, Paul provides his clients with all the information they need to guide them through the buying and selling process.
